20 Minutes A Day?

20 Minutes A Day Could Change Your Life

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin
Zechariah 4:10

What Would Happen?

What would happen if you spent 20 minutes a day focused on one activity that will help you get closer to yours goals? If you wanted to learn to play the piano would practicing everyday for 20 minutes get you closer ? If you desired to be a software developer would it be beneficial to watch videos on that subject everyday during lunch? If you aspire to speak Spanish would it help to listen to a how to speak spanish CD in your car during your daily commute. The answer to all of these questions is obviously yes.

Why Don’t We Make The Time?

20 Minutes a day is only 1.38% of our entire day, yet many of us won’t commit to the effort to make the time to pursue our passions. We watch hours of worthless television, but we won’t sit down and study. We waste countless minutes each day on Facebook arguing about politics, racial issues and what the Kardashians did, but we won’t work on the task that will get us closer to our dreams. We have plenty of time to do what needs to be done, but we are just to easily distracted by other things and activities that bring very little value to our well being. What does it prosper a person to watch Atlanta housewives and other garbage reality shows? What real gains do you obtain by leaving comments on every article you read in a troll like manner? We need to stop majoring on the minor and minoring on the major. We need to put our hands to the plow and begin the work.

Start Something NOW!

I challenge you to find the time to achieve what God has put in you. If it takes you 20 minutes to get to work each day that is 40 minutes a day you could be listening to a book in your car. Over your lunch hour decide that you will commit to some activity that will further the dream. I use my lunch hour to write articles for this blog and listen to software development training while eating a sandwich. Get up 20 minutes early each day and study a subject that if mastered will further your career. I shudder to think what would happen if I spent just 20 minutes a day trying to understand advanced Angular coding practices. 1.38% of your day is not a sacrifice, it is an investment in a better you. Start something today and put in the time to achieve it. You deserve it.
